Pinko-Commie™ Explained At Last!

It is the way of the far right fascists throughout history to use convienent ad hominen attacks to discredit their opposition. The most infamous fascist, Adolf Hitler, excused his attempt at genocide by calling Jews "Communists." It is probably the case that most Germans didn't even know what a "communist" was. The same was true of American fascists like J. Edgar Hoover and Joseph McCarthy, although McCarthy and Hoover used a much cuter rendition, calling their opponents "Pinko-Commies." But there was nothing "cute" about the persecution of their political enemies. Those who were unfortunate enough to have McCarthy's or Hoover's finger pointed their way, were blacklisted, costing them their jobs, careers, livelihood and freedom. As with the case of the Germans seduced under NAZI Germany, most Americans who were seduced by McCarthyism, probably knew little of what was a communist. Most still believe that Communists are against the rights of individual human beings. The ignorance of what is communism is a large part of the reason why the fascists' ad hominen attacks were successful.

But the use of the ugliest logical fallacy, the ad hominen attack, is most successful when the public at large is ignorant of exactly what the ad hominen used, really means. fascism, which is a system rooted in illogic, surrealism and false symbolism, thrives best when the ad hominen attack is successful. This is because, a system so illogical as fascism cannot be supported through honest intellectual discussion, thus it can only argue for itself with ad hominen attacks and scape goating. There is no logical defense of fascism. It serves no purpose but "rule by divison" and results in a dictatorship of fallacy.

In order to succeed, its propaganda must be successful. However, it fails if its political opposition successfully puts forth an intellectual argument against its make-believe reality. Since the arguments for fascism are all rooted in logical fallacy, it is extremely easy to defeat its arguments intellectually. Because of this, fascists must prohibit free speech. Journalists and intellectuals must be jailed, put in concentration camps and/or executed. These actions are excused by fascists as they note the opposition is a threat to the nation (when they are merely a threat to fascism). The Nazis used a pre-existing anti-semitism to rally Germans against its Jewish population. Jews were a threat to NAZI Germany not because of religion or myths of an inferior "semitic race," but because Jews were traditionally the intellectual class in Germany. As a population of intellectuals, they could have undermined all of Hitler's thuggish fascism with words as their primary weapon. But in a battle of words the most influential arguments over a desparate public, are not the thoughtful and insightful words of intellectuals, but the easily formed sophistry of ad hominen and other illogical appeals.

Today's fascism is not as obvious as Hitler's, but the fascists continue to promote their agenda with personal attacks and logical fallacy of other forms. They take aim at university professors, Gays and other intellectuals. Their opposition to the existence of homosexuality, is less about the morality they trumpet, and more about the danger homosexuals pose to them. Today, as with Jews of NAZI era Germany, homosexuals are by and large America's intellectual class. Studies since 1993 to the present continue to show that Gays are disproportionately well educated--- 100% more likely than their straight counterparts to have a College education, 67% more likely to have a Master's degree and 50% more likely to hold a doctoral degree. To end the repression of Gays in America would be to give voice to those intellectuals. The arguments they would put forth against the causes of the closet fascists, known as "Right Wing Conservatives" would completely undo the silent fascist movement in the USA.

Today, fascists don't use the old "communist" ad hominen attack, they have toned it down. Replacing "communist" with"liberal," replacing "Jew" is "Gay" or "intellectual elitist." They have borrowed Marx's pro-working class language, but perverted it in highly disguised code words used to promote fascism.They appeal to ignorance, and they claim to be defending the ordinary or "common man." In doing so they imply that the "common man" is also ignorant. Ironically, these silent fascist support no cause beneficial to the "common man."

Like the old-time fascists, these people also are nation worshippers, promoting "patriotism" while ignoring the ideals most precious to the society they infiltrate. They claim to be religious, but nary a hair of their "religion" can be supported by the religious traditions they claim to exhort. The only religion is the worship of idols, like national flags, or even flags which have no national tradition (for the NAZI's it was the swastika, the silent fascists of today it is the Confederate flag--- an honor to a nation that existed less than five years and whose ideology was markedly fascist and whose economy, not unlike that of NAZI Germany was rooted in slave-capitalism). The latter day fascists are idolaters of the first order, placing flags, other national symbols and the nation above all else --- even the God they swear to honor.

This site is dedicated to fighting these silent fascists with a bit of tongue and cheek commentary, but it is a very serious mission. As I undertake this objective --- and ask you to join me--- I proudly wear the fascists' scorn as my badge of honor. To the fascists I ask: "why belittle my opposition by merely calling me a liberal?" Go all out and call me a Pinko-Commie!
